About ChildLine Rocks

ChildLine Rocks is an annual charity rock concert organised under the auspices of ChildLine 20, an independent committee set up to raise £2,000,000 for ChildLine to celebrate 20 years of ChildLine's existence.

The first ChildLine Rocks was held at London's indigO2 on 13th March 2008. The full line-up for the inaugural event was: Roger Daltrey, Lulu, Marillion, Thunder, Fish, Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), The Zombies, and Russ Ballard.

The event, which was compeered by legendary DJ, "Whispering" Bob Harris, raised over £100,000 which paid for 40 new volunteer ChildLine counsellors.

The evening also featured a special VIP auction of rock memorabilia where lucky bidders could win tickets for a flight on the Iron Maiden 757, piloted by Bruce Dickinson for a trip to see Iron Maiden play live in Lisbon, a Led Zeppelin plaque signed by Robert Plant, a double-necked Gibson guitar from Jimmy Page, a Fender Telecaster guitar from Status Quo, a Gibson Epiphone Union Jack guitar from Noel Gallagher and a Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by all the acts and artists featured on the night.
