Gibson Jimmy Page EDS 1275 Doubleneck Guitar

The guitar offered for sale is an original “Artist Proof” of the Jimmy Page Signature Double Neck EDS 1275. This extremely rare guitar was one of the 29 double neck guitars which were built by Gibson’s Custom division as exact reproductions of Jimmy’s iconic instrument as used on stage with Led Zeppelin and presented to Jimmy for inspection and approval prior to the launch of the model. Jimmy personally inspected and played all 29 guitars before autographing 25 of them for sale to collectors as the signed “aged” series. A further series of 250 “non aged” guitars followed and also sold out immediately upon release in June 2006. This guitar on offer was retained by Gibson and at the personal request of Jimmy Page is being offered to benefit the ChildLine Rocks charity. The guitar carries the designation “artist proof” on the back of the headstock and will be signed and personalized to the highest bidder by Jimmy.

Carefully recreated by the craftsmen at the Gibson Custom Shop, each handcrafted reissue of the Jimmy Page 1275 Double Neck Electric Guitar is modeled on Jimmy's personal instrument. From the shape of the neck to the long-string-pull tailpiece, no detail was overlooked. Even the pickups were painstakingly analyzed by the Gibson luthiers to duplicate their unique sound.

Features include mahogany body, mahogany necks with Madagascar rosewood fretboards and pearloid split parallelogram inlays, 2 specially-designed Gibson Jimmy Page humbuckers, ABR-1 style bridge, double-band vintage-style tuners, a custom Gibson hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.

The Gibson Jimmy Page Signature Double Neck is a precise duplicate of Page’s original EDS-1275 guitar. Gibson has offered only 25 Limited Edition Aged Double Necks that replicate every detail of Page’s iconic guitar “ding for ding,” featuring 20-fret rosewood fingerboards on both necks, period-correct headstock style for 12-string with a Page profile neck, master volume and tone controls for each neck, a “master” three-position pickup selector switch, as well as a three-position toggle switch for engaging the pickups on either or both necks.
